Misasa Hot Springs

Misasa Onsen boasts the highest radon quantity of all the world’s hot springs and is also known as ‘the healing spring’, making this area a popular health resort. A kawara rotemburo at the riverside below the Misasa bridge lets you soak to the sound of a babbling brook. A number of other charming bridges, like the Kajika Bridge downstream and the Koitani Bridge upstream, make the ryokan section along the Misasa River a lovely place for a stroll. With the kajika frogs to welcome travelers in summer, and the national treasure of a temple at Mt Mitoku, this is a profoundly lush hot spring village.

Type Moderate-radium, average temperature 52.8 degrees; effective against nerve pain, rheumatism, gout, high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, and diabetes.
