Oshidori Kansatsu-goya

The colourful mandarin duck is Hino’s town bird as well as Tottori’s prefectural bird. On a good day more than 800 of these ducks can be seen up close from this observation hut. The time for bird-watching is from November to March, from dawn to around 8:00 AM or from 4:00 in the afternoon until sundown. During rain or snow they can be seen in the daytime as well, from as close as 20 metres away.
