Takumi Kappou

Takumi Kappou is a ‘lifestyle museum’ that opened in 1962. Decorated with chairs, tables and other interior furnishings of Tottori folk art designed by folk art activist Shoya Yoshida, the restaurant offers a cuisine using local ingredients such as Matsuba crab, Iwagaki oysters and the popular ‘beef sugui nabe’ (a version of shabu-shabu, which Yoshida invented based on ‘shuàn yáng ròu’, a specialty of Beijing, China). The restaurant serves its dishes in folk art vessels.
