After learning of folk art from the activist Shoya Yoshida and meeting the potter Bernard Leech, Noriyuki Yamamoto decided to become a potter. Following his training at the Shussai Kiln in Shimane, in 1971 he independently opened his own kiln at its current location. His diverse works include a series of earthenware pots with a deep Ameyu (candy) glaze, salt glazed pitchers and vessels decorated with Zogan (inlaying) and scraping techniques. On the premises there is a workshop, exhibition room, a space for events and small exhibitions and a café and dining area where visitors can relax in a lush green environment where art comes to life!
