Wakasa-Shuku Sightseeing
Within walking distance of the Wakasa Railway Wakasa Station, the Kura-dori and Kariya-dori streets retain the white walled storehouses of old families enabling visitors to stroll through them as if they had stepped back in time to a real inn town.
At Tonkatsu Arata, visitors can savor delicious pork dishes made with local Yoshikawa pork raised in the clean water and air of a space registered as a Tangible Cultural Property. ‘Gallery Cafe Fuku’ is a cafe that sells coffee beans and snacks, but also has a gallery space hosting special exhibitions. Ota Sake Brewery, established in 1909, allows visitors to take part in sake tastings if they make a reservation. Wakasa is a place where visitors can have new experiences with nostalgia.
