Asia Museum/ Yasushi Inoue Memorial Hall
A museum of ethnic materials and dyeing/weaving that brings to life the long history of deep connections between the Sanin region and other Asian countries. The Kasuri Museum showcases, among other items, the Yumihama Kasuri, a Nationally Designated Traditional Craft and Prefectural Intangible Cultural Property. The Persian Nishiki Museum contains one of the world’s finest collections of 17th-18th century Persian brocade with as many as 2000 pieces. The Mongolian museum displays artefacts related to Mongolian history and folklore. The nearby Yasushi Inoue Memorial Museum recreates the study and parlor of Yasushi Inoue, a figure closely associated with the Silk Road.
